ABOUT GYP

What is Global Youth Parliament?

Global Youth Parliament (GYP) is a global youth platform envisioned to bring together young minds from across India and around the world for parliamentary engagement, democratic dialogue, cultural exchange, international understanding and youth leadership.

Inspired by the timeless Indian philosophy of वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् — The World is One Family, GYP seeks to create a space where geographical boundaries give way to meaningful conversations and diverse perspectives come together on one common platform.

FOUNDER'S MESSAGE

A Parliament of Possibilities

There are moments in the journey of a nation when an idea becomes larger than an event, and a gathering becomes the beginning of a movement. Global Youth Parliament is envisioned in that spirit.

We live in a world more connected than ever before, yet meaningful understanding between people, cultures and nations remains one of our greatest challenges. At the same time, a remarkable generation of young people is emerging—confident, curious, informed and eager to participate in shaping the world they will inherit.

GYP is an invitation to this generation.

An invitation to come together. To listen before we judge. To debate without dividing. To disagree without disrespect. To understand that democracy is not merely about having a voice, but about having the wisdom to hear another.

Rooted in India’s timeless civilisational thought of वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्, GYP carries a simple yet profound belief: the world is one family. Our differences are real, but so are the challenges that unite us. Climate, peace, technology, inequality, development, human dignity and the future of our societies cannot be addressed by nations in isolation. They demand conversation, cooperation and a generation willing to build bridges where others see boundaries.

GYP therefore seeks to bring together the diversity of India’s 28 States and 8 Union Territories with young voices from 50+ countries, creating a platform where the experience of Indian parliamentary democracy meets the wider world.

But our ambition goes beyond a parliamentary simulation or a youth conference. We want every young person who enters GYP to leave with something more valuable than a certificate—a deeper understanding of democracy, a wider view of the world, a new respect for cultures different from their own, and perhaps a few friendships that transcend borders.

We want a young person from one corner of India to discover a shared aspiration with someone from another part of the country—or another part of the world. We want conversations that continue long after the microphones are switched off and the final session concludes.

Because the true measure of GYP will not be the number of delegates who gather, but the number of bridges they build.

I envision GYP growing with every edition—not simply in scale, but in purpose, credibility and impact. A platform where young people do not wait for the future to arrive before taking responsibility for it. A platform where ideas are heard, perspectives are respected and leadership is understood as service.

If we can create even one generation that chooses dialogue over division, curiosity over prejudice, cooperation over isolation and service over self-interest, GYP will have achieved something far greater than the success of an event.

The future does not belong to one nation, one culture or one generation. It belongs to all of us.

And perhaps that is where our journey begins—with young people from India and the world coming together under one timeless idea:

वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्The World is One Family.

Welcome to the Global Youth Parliament.
