ABOUT GYP

What is Global Youth Parliament?

Global Youth Parliament (GYP) is a global youth platform envisioned to bring together young minds from across India and around the world for parliamentary engagement, democratic dialogue, cultural exchange, international understanding and youth leadership.

Inspired by the timeless Indian philosophy of वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् — The World is One Family, GYP seeks to create a space where geographical boundaries give way to meaningful conversations and diverse perspectives come together on one common platform.

The Indian dimension of GYP brings together young delegates from across the country’s 28 States and 8 Union Territories, representing the diversity of India’s people, regions and perspectives through the Lok Sabha Committee.

Its global dimension extends the conversation beyond India’s borders, with participation envisioned from 50+ countries through a dedicated Global Committee and a programme of international dialogue, cultural exchange, diplomatic interaction and people-to-people engagement.

GYP is designed to give young participants an immersive experience of democratic participation while creating opportunities to understand different cultures, engage with contemporary national and global challenges, and build lasting connections with fellow young leaders.

GYP is where India comes together, the world comes together, and young voices meet.

VISION

Our Vision

"To establish Global Youth Parliament as a globally respected platform for youth parliamentary leadership, democratic engagement, international dialogue and cultural exchange, inspired by the timeless Indian philosophy of वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्."

We envision a future in which young people from different regions, cultures and nations come together not merely to exchange ideas, but to understand one another, challenge assumptions, build friendships and work collectively towards shared solutions.

GYP seeks to nurture a generation of informed, ethical and globally conscious leaders who respect democratic institutions, value diversity and recognise that meaningful progress is built through dialogue and cooperation.

Through every edition, GYP aspires to strengthen India’s role as a bridge between cultures and generations, creating a platform where the voices of young people contribute meaningfully to a more peaceful, inclusive and collaborative world.

Committee II

50+ Countries. One Global Conversation.

GYP extends beyond India’s borders to create meaningful connections among young people from across the world.

With participation envisioned from 50+ countries, international delegates will experience India’s democratic traditions, engage with Indian youth and participate in conversations on issues that affect our shared world.

Through global dialogue, cultural exchange, diplomatic interactions and networking, GYP seeks to transform international participation from a formal gathering into meaningful people-to-people engagement.

The objective is simple: to move from knowing about one another to understanding one another.
